16 Resident Evil Requiem 'Easter Eggs' You've Missed!
Resident Evil 'Easter Egg' – In Resident Evil: Requiem , Capcom not only expanded Leon S. Kennedy's story and introduced Grace Ashcroft, but also cleverly included a series of hidden details specifically for long-time players of the Resident Evil franchise .
From seemingly meaningless numbers and inscriptions on gun barrels to a bottle of wine used to solve a puzzle, everything can hold a deeper meaning than its surface suggests.
Notably, the easter eggs in this game aren't just fan service. They act as threads connecting the past and present of the series, transporting players back to the era of RPD, STARS, or even forgotten spin-offs and CG movies.
Names like Rebecca Chambers, Alyssa Ashcroft, and Alcina Dimitrescu reappear in subtle ways, forcing players to observe carefully and deduce, rather than simply skimming over them.
Therefore, Resident Evil Requiem is not only a new chapter in the horror survival journey, but also a meaningful summary of nearly three decades of the game series' history.
If you think you've explored every nook and cranny on your first playthrough, chances are you've missed these small but symbolically significant details – these 16 Resident Evil easter eggs , and what makes the journey back to this world even more captivating!
1. Leon's license plate number
In Resident Evil: Requiem , Leon is provided with a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT by the US government for personal transportation. This is the result of a partnership between Capcom and the renowned German sports car manufacturer.
However, what caught the attention of many fans when they saw this Porsche was its license plate. The characters 'ND9642' were seen as an 'easter egg' related to the games Leon has appeared in: Resident Evil 9 (Requiem) , Resident Evil 6 , Resident Evil 4 , and Resident Evil 2 .
It's still unclear what 'ND' actually means, but some fans have theorized that it could stand for 'Never Dies' or 'New Dawn'.
2. Dimitrescu's bottle of wine
When Grace enters the building next to the helicopter landing pad, she will find a bottle of wine in the room. Players can open this bottle to reveal a Double Helix (DNA double helix) inside. It's quite possible you opened it without noticing any other details.
However, if you look closely before opening, you'll see the name of the wine bottle is Sanguis Virginis. Those with good memories will surely recognize this as the wine brand produced by Alcina Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village .
This detail could be a clue suggesting a connection between The Connection and Dimitrescu in particular, and the Four Lords of the Village in general.
3. A picture of Rebecca Chamber
Rebecca Chambers is a young member of the RPD ( Resident Evil 2) police department. In the original Resident Evil 2, if the player checks Wesker's desk drawer 50 times, they will find a picture of her inside.
In the Resident Evil 2 remake, instead of directly finding the photo in Wesker's desk drawer, players pick up a roll of film and have to develop it to reveal the picture.
And now, 28 years after the events of Resident Evil 2 , Rebecca's photo has resurfaced, this time found in a Wesker book at the RPD police department library.
It seems Wesker has a rather… unhealthy interest in this female police officer!
4. Jojo's Wardrobe
When you find the STARS office in Resident Evil Requiem , you'll most likely also come across clues related to Barry's puzzle.
This puzzle will lead you to the Locker Key. Attached to the key is a keychain with the name 'JoJo'. 'JoJo' is the nickname of Joseph Frost, a character created by director Hideki Kamiya as a reference to the legendary manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure . Capcom previously released a fighting game based on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure .
When you open the cabinet at the West Office, inside is a collection of classic Capcom games, including Street Fighter Alpha and Resident Evil 1 .
However, the real focus of this puzzle is the pair of zoo tickets, a crucial 'easter egg' related to Resident Evil Outbreak . This game introduced many important Raccoon City landmarks never mentioned in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 , such as the Raccoon City Zoo.
At the same time, Resident Evil Outbreak is also where the character Alyssa Ashcroft makes her first appearance.
5. Items remaining in the STARS office
These details are fairly easy to spot, but still worth mentioning. When visiting the STARS office, you'll come across a series of small 'easter eggs,' enough to make you want to stop and take a closer look.
For example, you might spot Jill's familiar STARS beret, Chris's stylish leather jacket, and Rebecca's first-aid kit. Leon might tell himself that Rebecca's kit is now empty, a detail reminiscent of Resident Evil 2 Remake , where Leon or Claire might find a bottle of First-Aid Spray inside.
6. Tofu
While still in the RPD, you might encounter Tofu – a mysterious character who appeared in both the original Resident Evil 2 and its remake. This is definitely a familiar 'easter egg' for long-time players of the series.
After encountering the Tyrant bioweapon and escaping from him, you can find Tofu spawning in the Operations Room or in the hallway behind the Waiting Room.
Initially, Capcom created Tofu to test the game's collision detection system. However, the character was later developed into a separate game mode called The Tofu Survivor , serving as a parody of The Fourth Survivor mode centered around HUNK.
7. Cute Bear Charm
In Resident Evil Requiem, 'Charms' are a system of amulets that Grace and Leon can carry with them or attach to their weapons to increase their combat effectiveness and survival.
One of the 'charms' Leon might find is the 'Cute Bear Charm'. If this mini teddy bear looks familiar, it's because it's the same item that was attached to the keychain of the jetski Ada gave Leon, helping him and Ashley escape the island at the end of Resident Evil 4 .
In terms of functionality, this 'charm' reduces the effectiveness of shotguns at close range but increases their effectiveness at medium range. This is a suitable option for the MSBG500, which is very powerful at close range but less effective at medium range.
The fact that the MSBG500 closely resembles the shotgun Ada used in Separate Ways suggests that Capcom seems to have intentionally designed Leon to carry a weapon reminiscent of Ada on his journey.
8. Alyssa and Grace: 'A tigress raising a tigress'
Alyssa Ashcroft is the mother of one of the game's two main characters, Grace Ashcroft.
Alyssa previously appeared in Resident Evil Outbreak , released on PlayStation 2 in 2003. In the game, as a sharp investigative reporter, she possessed the ability to use 'lockpicks' to access areas inaccessible to other characters – a skill unique to her.
In Resident Evil: Requiem , Grace can also use a 'lockpick' to open drawers and search for items. When you open the first locked drawer, the game awards a challenge/achievement called 'Like Mother, Like Daughter,' as a way of emphasizing the inheritance of skills between mother and daughter.
9. Blood Specimen Analyzer
In the Blood Lab, you can analyze various specimens to unlock new crafting recipes for Grace. When you select a specimen to analyze, the system will start and display the following message:
ANALYZER__Ver. 1.21.8991
At first glance, this looks like just another regular version. However, if you reverse the last four digits, you get 1.21.1998 – which is the North American release date of Resident Evil 2 .
10. Roulette at The Parlor
The Parlor is a cozy room located within the Care Center, and it's also where you can use Antique Coins to redeem rewards.
Interestingly, there's a secret Antique Coin here that you can get through roulette. If you spin the wheel a few times, you'll notice the ball only lands on three fixed numbers: 7, 15, and 29.
Then, if you shoot at one of these three numbers and the ball lands on the number you chose, you will receive an Antique Coin as a reward. Note that the roulette table only awards this reward 'exactly once'.
11. Victor Gideon and his night vision goggles
Victor Gideon, a former researcher at Umbrella Corporation, is the game's main antagonist. In many cutscenes, he frequently appears wearing a pair of night vision goggles.
According to director Kōshi Nakanishi, Resident Evil: Requiem was partly inspired by The Silence of the Lambs . Therefore, it can be speculated that Victor is a reference to the character Buffalo Bill in this film.
Victor's night vision goggles design, along with his stealthy stalking of Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy throughout the main storyline, is distinctly reminiscent of Ted Levine's performance in the 1991 film adaptation.
12. The small details on Leon's gun
Besides the Requiem, Leon's initial equipment for the mission also includes a handgun called the Alligator Snapper. This gun has some rather noteworthy details.
On the right side, on the gun's body, you can see the serial number FEB2726 – referring to February 27, 2026, the game's release date.
Also on this gun, the words 'Kendo Tactical Arms' are engraved on the slide. This inscription replaces Kendo's familiar signature that appeared on models like the Samurai Edge or SG-09R in previous games.
This suggests that by 2026, Joe Kendo's gun shop had evolved into a company specializing in the production and upgrading of high-end firearms, similar to Taran Tactical Innovation – the renowned gun manufacturer associated with John Wick. The name Alligator Snapper is also a parody of the Pitt Viper, used by John Wick in John Wick 4 .
Additionally, on the right side of the slider, below the name 'Alligator Snapper', the inscription 'SG-19Rs' can be seen engraved. This detail indicates that the gun is a 'descendant' of the SG-09R from Resident Evil 4 .
13. This wasn't the first time Leon had been chased by a dog on his motorcycle.
As Leon travels from the east of Raccoon City into the city center on his BSAA motorcycle, the villain Victor Gideon will send a pack of Garmr mutant hunting dogs to chase him down and tear him apart along the way.
This isn't the first time Leon has encountered this problem. In the CG animated film Resident Evil: Vendetta , Leon faced a similar situation. With accurate shots, skillful driving, and a few grenades, Leon was able to eliminate these hounds.
Essentially, the segment in Requiem answers the question: ' What would it be like if we could play Leon in the chase scene from the movie? '
14. Mr. X, Tyrant, old tricks again.
Continuing with the theme of referencing the franchise's CG films, let's revisit the boss fight between Leon and Mr. X outside the RPD police station. In this fight, one of Mr. X's moves was to punch Leon into the air, then grab him and hurl him against a wall.
For those who have seen the CG movie Resident Evil: Dammation , this combo will be quite familiar. That's because it was performed by a Tyrant (of unknown model) on Leon himself. It seems Umbrella likes to pre-program their Tyrant bioweapons with some familiar moves.
15. Toys at the orphanage
While playing as Chloe in a flashback to the Raccoon City orphanage, players will be able to find some rather interesting toys arranged on the floor.
At first glance, many might think they are just insignificant toys. But upon closer inspection, you'll see they are a clear reference to Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 0 , the first two games in the franchise's timeline.
The mansion represents Spencer Mansion, the four teddy bears represent Chris, Jill, Burton, and Wesker, and the overturned train is the Ecliptic Express.
16. Grace Ashcroft – Reddit reporter…
In Grace's flashback scene at the Wrenwood Hotel, we see her looking at some information on her laptop before the hotel's power goes out.
Interestingly, when using a mod tool called FreeCam, we can see that she's browsing Reddit, specifically the r/amatuerjournalist forum. The content Grace is viewing relates to the events of Resident Evil 7 .
The laptop's screen was originally placed in a hidden spot out of sight of the average player, so Capcom could have easily made a white screen without anyone noticing. However, their attention to such a small detail seems to be a reward for players who use technology to satisfy their curiosity.
