Rainbow Six Siege Collaborates with Metal Gear Solid, Revealing New Operator Inspired by Solid Snake

Rainbow Six Siege recently released a teaser trailer hinting at a collaboration with Metal Gear Solid to introduce a new Operator, clearly inspired by Solid Snake.

Solid Snake has a chance to appear in Rainbow Six Siege.

It's been 11 years since its initial release in 2015. In its early days, the game only had about 20  Operators , each with unique skill sets and divided into one of two factions:  "Attackers"  or  "Defenders" . Currently, the game boasts 76  Operators,  with the newest one launching in September 2025. In addition, there are a variety of different game modes, several quality enhancements, and numerous different costumes, some inspired by other popular brands.

On January 29th, Rainbow Six Siege 's official social media channel   posted a very short 15-second teaser, opening with the iconic  Codec  walkie-talkie sound effect along with a user interface similar to  MGS  appearing on the screen.

The franchise's character , Sam Fisher (known in the series as Agent 1), appears in the upper left corner of the Codec call, urgently saying, "Our chances are dwindling. We only have one chance left."

Then, the camera pans to a smoke-filled room bathed in red light. As the background music intensifies, a mysterious figure is seen preparing a pistol — this figure appears to be wearing Rainbow Six's iconic gray stealth suit. The teaser ends with the message that the official reveal will be posted around 11 PM on February 15th, and fans can watch it on  Rainbow Six 's official Twitch channel .

The super spy will be a complete Special Agent.

The livestream is also expected to reveal the game's Year 11 content roadmap, promising to announce some more Special Agents, and features unrelated to the aforementioned collaboration. It's currently unknown what this collaboration might entail. While  Solid Snake  appears to have been shown in the teaser, it could simply be an existing  R6 Special Agent outfit.

However, a recent rumor originating from user  @Shiiny77  on X and later confirmed by Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming suggests that  Solid Snake  will be a full-fledged Agent, launching with Season 1, Year 11 of  Rainbow Six Siege,  starting this coming March.

Leaker @Shiiny77 also confirmed that Agent  Solid Snake  will have the codename  "Diamond"  and will possess a secondary weapon inspired by both  the Socom MK23 silenced pistol (Metal Gear Solid)  and the Wu Silent pistol  (Metal Gear Solid V) . This secondary weapon comes with a silencer, an  Acro scope , and a laser sight module, making it look similar to the version from  Metal Gear Solid 1.  Based on the descriptions above, it closely resembles the gun shown in the teaser.

Although the leaks from @Shiiny77 don't mention this, it seems that Agent Solid Snake will also come with his own unique outfit, potentially allowing players to choose between some of his most iconic looks. If the aforementioned rumors are accurate, Solid Snake's appearance  would  mark the first Agent from a game franchise not owned by Ubisoft (unlike  Sam Fisher  from  Splinter Cell,  which is licensed by Ubisoft).
