Resident Evil Requiem: Users Share Interesting Discovery About the Requiem That Capcom... Forgot
Recently, a Resident Evil Requiem player accidentally discovered a rather interesting discrepancy regarding the most powerful pistol, which is based on the real-life Magnum pistol.
Resident Evil Requiem unexpectedly has one inaccuracy.
Released on February 27th, it became the most successful game in the franchise's history, selling over 6 million copies in less than a month. Its gameplay, a blend of immersive horror from Leon's perspective and explosive action, garnered widespread praise. This was largely due to the idea that players could use Leon to "raid" the Rhode Hills Treatment Facility before Grace returned and. enjoy loot items like ammunition, health packs, etc.
Additionally, this interwoven gameplay style allows both characters to use the weapon that gives the game its name, the Magnum pistol. This pistol is given to Grace by Leon after a few short segments early in the game and plays a crucial role in her survival later on. Its devastating firepower will quickly shock Grace if the player uses it for the first time. Despite its relatively limited ammunition (which can be addressed later when unlimited ammo is unlocked), this gun remains a reliable companion.
Interestingly, while players can use Resident Evil Requiem Amiibo to unlock different weapon designs, a weapon attachment issue seems to have been inadvertently overlooked by Capcom. A Reddit user named Rude-Membership5109 posted on the Resident Evil Requiem subreddit about a detail they noticed regarding the Requiem . They fired a shot, reloaded, and noticed the bullet in the top chamber was missing. This puzzled them because the Requiem is a bottom-chamber magnum .
This means that after reloading, the missing bullet should have been at the bottom, but due to a mistake on Capcom's part, it wasn't. Another user also pointed out that pressing the extractor plunger pushes out all the bullets in the cylinder. However, in Resident Evil Requiem , only the fired bullets are ejected. Despite these minor inaccuracies, with Resident Evil Requiem setting sales records for the series, most gamers don't seem too bothered.
A "silly" but interesting detail.
With the Resident Evil series featuring superpowered individuals, dragon-like bosses, and countless other unrealistic elements, these minor, purely aesthetic flaws are easily overlooked by the community. The franchise has never aimed for absolute realism, instead relying on a blend of science and the supernatural to instill lasting terror in players.
In any case, the gun's owner, Leon S. Kennedy, was known for his dramatic (and unnecessary) somersaults and his habit of joking even in the most tense situations. Therefore, the visual inconsistency of the Requiem gun becomes all the more fitting.
Anyway, with Resident Evil Requiem having just received a minor update to fix minor bugs, a reloading mechanism for the Requiem is entirely possible. Its post-release future looks very promising, with a new mini-game expected in May 2026, along with the long-awaited photo mode.
The most notable announcement regarding the game's future is a story expansion, which has been in development since the game's launch and will likely answer many unanswered questions for players. Despite minor graphical flaws, Resident Evil Requiem is steadily becoming one of the best installments in the series, with much more compelling content yet to come.
