Resident Evil REquiem Fans Theorize About Newly Discovered Hidden Details

Some Resident Evil Requiem players have recently discovered more interesting hidden details related to previous installments in this hugely successful franchise.

Using Free Cam, the community discovered that Grace is also a Redditor.

Resident Evil Requiem  contains  numerous details that allude to various other games in this 30-year-old franchise. The most obvious is undoubtedly the return to  Raccoon City –  the origin of everything. However, there's a hidden detail that's almost impossible to spot unless the player actively explores the game.

Specifically, Reddit user  KnyH_82  used the Free Cam tool on the PC version to "spy" on Grace's laptop in the game's opening sequence. In the game's flashback, most players only get a fleeting glimpse of  Grace  working on her bed, without knowing what's inside the laptop.

User KnyH_82 decided to do some tinkering and captured the details, showing  Grace  using a version of Reddit to discuss incidents related to biological weapons – including the  Baker  family incident . Other comments spoke of a connection between that event and the "giant black monster" seen in the area.

On the side of the screen, we also see several other topics on Grace's computer. These include conspiracy theories such as the government being suspected of conducting experiments on children, alien rats on the moon called "Clingers," people asking if there are still infected people in the world, and people who don't trust the BSAA (biological weapons prevention organization in the game).

This is an interesting detail, especially since it's almost impossible to see during normal gameplay. Perhaps Capcom anticipated that PC players would use camera-manipulating tools to scrutinize the game and left these "gifts" for them to discover.

Hidden details hint at the first two Resident Evil games.

Besides  RE7,  Requiem also seems   to contain details about the two  original Resident Evil games  that not everyone has noticed. Specifically, in the flashback scene at the  Raccoon City nursery , several toys appear to have been intentionally arranged on the floor. First is a dollhouse with four little bears facing it. Next to it is a train, along with wooden blocks arranged to spell out the letters "CCC" and "1-9-9-6".

Based on these details, Reddit user  Dezeko  suggests that these are Easter Eggs reminiscent of  Resident Evil 1  and  0.  Specifically, the image of the house with the four bears represents the segment where  Chris, Jill, Barry  , and  Wesker enter the Spencer  mansion  . The image of the train likely refers to  Bill  and  Rebecca  's exploration before she reunites with  Chris's group . Finally, the wooden blocks represent the year 1996 – the game's release date – and the developer/publisher, Capcom.

Immediately, this topic received a lot of positive feedback from the online community. Of course, there were also some opinions that the logic behind these hidden details was rather far-fetched, especially since the things mentioned above are nothing special. This could entirely be a coincidence, but at the same time, based on recent rumors, such a coincidence is not without basis.

Specifically, there have been rumors that  Resident Evil Zero  will be remade in 2029, and that the first game will also receive a remake. It seems  Capcom is trying to unify the Resident Evil  timeline   by remaking older games, to align with the three remakes from games 2-4, plus the   recently released Requiem .
